This hybrid mountain ash was bred by Ivan Vladimirovich Michurin in 1929. Similar to the mountain ash, but genetically it is a hybrid mountain ash x medlar. In contrast to the common mountain ash (rowanberry), its fruits are suitable for fresh consumption straight from the tree and for processing juice and jam. Perfectly adapted to unfavorable climatic conditions. Cultivation is easy. One of the most delicious mountain ash.

Crossing: sorbaronia Likyornaya Sorbus aucuparia x Sorbus melanocarpa x medlar Mespilus germanica
Vigour: weak, the height of a 5-year-old shrub is up to 1.5 m. Suitable for small gardens.
Blossom: self-fertile
Fruit: purple-red, medlar-like shape, pleasantly sweet taste. The fruits can be stored for several months.
Harvest season: August to September
Disease and frost resistance: high, the variety enables ecological cultivation without chemical sprays
Usage: even with very late harvest, the juice yield is still very high. The black-red juice can be can be boiled into jelly and whole fruits can be processed into jam using other fruits.
