no longer available Siberian plum (Prunus x hybrid) GENERAL

High-yielding Siberian plum intended mainly for northern growing areas with cold winters and unsettled spring weather. Very valuable for their adaptability, high frost hardiness and very good resistance to fungal diseases. An interspecific hybrid of Cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera), Japanese plum (Prunus salicina), Ussurian plum (Prunus ussuriensis) and Chinese plum (Prunus simonii).

Crossing: free pollination of the Kometa variety, breeder Liliya Ivanovna Taranenko, V.V.Sichov, V.V. Pavlyuk. Released in 2009.
Vigour: strong, but compact, narrow pyramidal canopy, moderately dense
Blossom: the variety is partially self-fertile, so it produces crops even without the presence of pollinator. If there is a pollinator nearby, the harvest will be higher and more stable. A suitable pollinator is another variety of Siberian plum, Japanese plum or Cherry plum. Blooming flowers are resistant to mild frost.
Fruit: large, averaging 50 - 60 g, some up to 80 g, round to oval in shape. Bordeaux color, dark violet when fully ripe. Suitable for fresh consumption as well as for processing.
Pulp: orange, dense, fleshy, moderately juicy, aromatic, freestone. Stone is small.
Taste: harmonious, more sweet than sour
Harvest season: late July to early August
Yield: high, stable and regular, diameter 45 kg / tree, very early yield onset
Disease and frost resistance: high
Usage: the variety is particularly suitable for peripheral areas of stone fruit cultivation. Suitable for organic or no-spray culture.
