no longer available Siberian plum (Prunus x hybrid) GEK

Yellow Siberian plum intended mainly for northern growing areas with cold winters and unsettled spring weather. Very valuable for good adaptability, rich yields and high resistance to fungal diseases and frost. An interspecific hybrid of Cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera), Japanese plum (Prunus salicina), Ussurian plum (Prunus ussuriensis) and Chinese plum (Prunus simonii).

Crossing: Skoroplodnaya x Otlichnitsa, breeders G.V. Yeremin, S.V. Zabrodina. Released in 1995.
Vigour: moderate, canopy oval, moderately dense
Blossom: the variety is partially self-fertile, so it produces crops even without the presence of pollinator. If there is a pollinator nearby, the harvest will be higher and more stable. A suitable pollinator is another variety of Siberian plum, Japanese plum or Cherry plum. Blooming flowers are resistant to mild frost.
Fruits: weight 30 - 40 g, oval shape, peel medium thick, elastic with a light wax coating. Basic color yellow with orange-pink blush on 25% of the fruit surface. Medium-sized stone. Suitable for fresh consumption and processing.
Pulp: yellow, tender, medium-density, medium-juicy, aromatic, semi-freestone
Taste: harmonious, more sweet than sour
Harvest season: second half of July
Yield: high, stable and regular, early yield onset
Disease and frost resistance: high
Usage: the variety is particularly suitable for peripheral areas of stone fruit cultivation. Suitable for organic or no-spray culture.
