no longer available Pear (Pyrus communis) VESILNA

Large-fruited autumn pear with a beautiful and elegant appearance, excellent taste and a pink-red flesh color, which is not typical for pears. Very frost-resistant, drought-tolerant and scab-resistant.

Origin: Viktoria x Krasnomyasa, breedrs I.M. Maksimova, L.M. Tolstolik, T.I. Krasulya, released in 2006
Vigour: weak, round, moderately dense canopy. The tree is not large, does not take up much space, ideal for smaller gardens. Good compatibility with quince rootstock. When grafting on the quince bears fruit already in the third year after planting.
Blossom: partially self-fertile
Fruits: very elegant appearance, uniform, average weight 180 - 220 g, nice regular pear shape. Shell with anthocyanin coloring and bright red cheek.
Pulp: oily consistency, very juicy and soft. The pink color of the flesh and excellent sweet taste with mild acidity make Vesilna one of the most popular varieties among amateur gardeners in Ukraine.
Harvest season: ripens in the second decade of August. Storage in the fridge is possible for up to 3-4 months. Market quality and transportability are good
Yield: high and stable. The average yield of 13 year old trees is 22-25 t/ha.
Disease resistance: the variety is resistant to scab (Venturia pyrina), tolerates drought and has high frost resistance
