Large-fruited winter pear with an attractive appearance, excellent taste and resistance to disease and frost. Especially suitable for hobby gardeners because it reliably bears high-quality fruits even under extensive growing conditions. An unpretentious and adaptable variety.

Vigour: strong, compact, crown broad-pyramidal, moderately dense
Blossom: the flowering period is medium early, the flowers and young fruits are relatively resistant to late spring frosts. Cross-pollinate variety, for pollination needs another pear blooming at the same time.
Fruit: large, average weight 200 - 250 g, pear-shaped to broad-pear-shaped. Peel thin but firm, greenish-yellow in harwest maturity, light yellow with orange-red blush on the sunny side in consumption maturity.
Pulp: white to creamy white, firm, buttery, tender, moderately juicy
Taste: excellent sweet and sour, melting, highly valued
Harvest season: harwest maturity at the end of September, consumption maturity from late November to early December
Storage: in the refrigerator until March
Yeald: high and regular even under poor growing conditions. Pear trees will sometimes fruit the first year after planting, but usually start fruiting best in their third year and beyond.
Frost resistance: very good
Disease resistance: good resistance to fire blight (Erwinia amylovora), scab (Venturia pyrina) and pear rust (Gymnosporangium sabinae). Suitable for organic or no-spray culture.
