This variety was obtained in British Columbia, but originated in Odessa, Ukraine. Self-fertile, hardy variety with high disease resistance.
Vigour: the tree grows medium strong, but later in older age the growth decreases and the tree forms many short shoots. Suitable for planting in small gardens.
Blossom: medium early
Pollination: the variety is apomictic, self-fertile
Nut: elongated, large, weight 12 to 13 g
Kernel: fills the shell well, can be easily removed from the shell
Shell: moderately thick
Taste: good
Harvest season: the nuts ripen in the second half of October
Yield: high and regular, very productive variety from a young age
Disease resistance: medium resistance to bacterial blight (Xanthomonas arboricola pathovar. juglandis) and anthracnose (Gnomonia leptostyla)
