Compared to other varieties that ripen at the end of October, Cangzhou ripens a month earlier and therefore reliably bears quality fruits even outside of lowland areas with a shorter growing season. This early ripening, large-fruited variety belongs to the PCNA (Pollination Constant Non Astringent) group. Fruits in this category are never astringent in full maturity and can be consumed straight from the tree.
