Jujube Tree (Ziziphus jujuba) DRAGON

Also called Dragons Claws for fruit shape and decorative branches with particularly irregular growth. The cultivation of this unique fruit plant is possible in all wine-growing regions.

Origin: comes from Chinese province Shanxi, Taigu county
Vigour: strong, semi-erect, the plant has small thorns
Blossom: blooms from late May
Fruits: small, average weight 5 g. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for drying.
Harvest season: fruits gradually ripen from mid-September to October, dried fruits can be stored for several months without loss of quality
Yield: medium-high, reliably regular
Disease resistance: reliably resists attack by pests and fungal diseases, no chemical protection is required during vegetation
Frost resistance: frost hardy down to -25°C without damage, sprouts late, at the end of April and therefore avoids spring frost damage
