Siberian plum (Prunus x hybrid) SOLNECHNY ZAYCHIK

Yellow Siberian plum intended mainly for northern growing areas with cold winters and unsettled spring weather. Valuable for rich yields and high resistance to fungal diseases and frost. An interspecific hybrid of Cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera), Japanese plum (Prunus salicina), Ussurian plum (Prunus ussuriensis) and Chinese plum (Prunus simonii).

Origin: Artemovsk Research Center of Horticultural Institute NAAN, Ukraine
Vigour: medium strong
Blossom: medium early, mid-April, the variety is partially self-fertile, so it produces crops even without the presence of pollinator. If there is a pollinator nearby, the harvest will be higher and more stable. A suitable pollinator is another variety of Siberian plum, Japanese plum or Cherry plum. Blooming flowers are resistant to mild frost.
Fruit: medium-sized, weight 20 - 30 g, round, color intense yellow. Suitable for fresh consumption as well as for processing.
Pulp: yellow, firm, juicy
Taste: pleasantly sweet and sour
Harvest season: early, second half of July
Yield: high, 22 – 30 kg / 4 – 5 year old tree
Disease and frost resistance: high
Usage: the variety is particularly suitable for peripheral areas of stone fruit cultivation. Suitable for organic or no-spray culture.
