Sweet Cherry (Prunus avium) BURLAT

Large-fruited French heart-shaped sweet cherry with excellent taste and high frost resistance. The variety is undemanding to the climatic conditions and and care, so it is very popular with gardeners.

Origin: chance seedling found in France by Mr. Burlat. The cherry variety was named after him and was also widely distributed by him.
Vigour: on the rootstock Gisela 5, the cherry is just a small compact tree, reaches a maximum height of 2.5 - 3 m, does not take up much space and is suitable for small gardens. The tree forms a broad, rounded canopy. The wood is robust and healthy.
Blossom: mid-early, cross-pollinate, need cross pollination with a different variety of sweet cherry. Incompatibility in pollination is not known. Burlat is a good pollen donor.
Fruits: large, average weight 9 g, flat-spherical, dark red, firm. Peel thin, shiny.
Pulp: red, juicy, aromatic, semi-crispy, medium-firm, freestone
Taste: excellently sweet, aromatic
Harvest season: early, begins to ripen in early June, the harvest period is long
Yield: high and regular, early onset
