Sour Cherry (Prunus cerasus) KARNEOL®

Large-fruited, dark red and shiny, attractive sour cherry. Depending on the weather and location, the yield is medium to high. The fruits are suitable for wet and frost preservation as well as for must and fresh consumption.

Crossing: Köröser x Schattenmorelle
Vigour: fast-growing with good branching, relatively wide, spreading canopy, flower buds mostly on one-year-old wood
Blossom: medium to late, partially self-fertile
Fruits: almost round, dark red to reddish brown, sometimes slightly speckled, firm, fruit mass about 5 to 6 g
Pulp: medium firm
Taste: refreshingly sweet and sour
Harvest season: late June
Yield: medium to high
Disease resistance: very healthy variety, tolerant to viroses (PNRV), tolerant to cherry necrotic ringspot virus, low susceptibility to monilia lace drought and spray spot fungus
Special notes: prefers warm, frost-protected locations, weaker growing rootstocks
