Almond Tree (Amygdalus communis) FERRAGNES

Ferragnès is partner variety to Ferraduel. Of the French varieties, Ferragnès (approximately 60%) and Ferraduel (approximately 30% of production) are among the most important varieties in France.

Origin: France (INRA), Bordeaux 1966
Vigour: the tree grows moderately strong, final height is 3-4 m, by cutting its canopy can be easily adjusted to suit the limited space in a small garden
Site requirements: sunny, soil dry, permeable and aerated
Blossom: late (like Ferraduel) in March, rich, cross-pollinate. It is pollinated with Ferraduel and other late-flowering varieties.
Fruits: very large, oval, semi-hard shell, large kernel. Very good quality with a delicious taste, kernel content 35-40%, no double kernels.
Harvest season: late, end of September
Yeald: very productive, regular yields
Disease resistance: resistant to monillosis, tolerant to fungal diseases
Frost resistance: very good, we recommend planting up to 400 m above sea level
